CLARKSON ANNOUNCES DRY CAMPUS INITIATIVE FOR 2019

This past Thursday the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a report on alcoholism among New York State university students. In this report the CDC stated that the average Clarkson student drinks as much alcohol per semester as the entire student body of Paul Smith’s College.

In response to this report Clarkson University has announced that they will attempt to institute a dry campus policy for the 2018-2019 school year. Campus Safety and Security announced that it plans to enforce this policy by adding breathalyzers to all doors that currently require card access.

Any student trying to enter a university building with a BAC above 0.08% will be forced to leave Clarkson grounds and forced to come back once they have sobered up, followed by a stern talking to by the student’s academic advisor.
