St. Lawrence County's premier media outlet wants you to apply! INN is looking for students interested in joining our Network for the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 Semesters in a wide variety of departments and leadership opportunities.

The application process is fairly competitive, and will commence at Clarkson University, St. Lawrence University, SUNY Potsdam & SUNY Canton on July 27th. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come first-serve basis.

Executive Staff

Assistant Editor in Chief, Executive Director, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Web Officer

As a member of the Executive Staff, you will be tasked to direct, lead, and manage a large staff of fellow students. Depending on which position you are applying for, you will need to be flexible and available throughout the week and weekend.

In short, you will be a decision maker for our Network. Clearly, this position comes with a great deal of responsibility and charisma. You will need to display high forms of professionalism, leadership, direction, and innovation.

If selected for an Executive Staff position, you may be part of INN’s National Expansion and be provided Stock Options.

Producers

Executive Producer, Producer, Associate Producer

As a Producer you will be part of INN's physical process of News creation, Video production, Ad production, and Content development.

Your job will be to oversee the planning, promotion, production, and execution of numerous community-based projects, while leading a team towards an objective. In addition, you will be shoulder to shoulder with industry experts, business leaders, and community organizers.

As a Staff Writer for INN, you are provided with a blank canvas to explore and express your thoughts, opinions, & interests. Whether you like writing about sports, music, culture, campus news, or even comedy, INN is the prefect place to hone your skills.

Staff Writers will meet weekly to pitch ideas and develop content, as well as to work closely with pre-existing student media organizations like a student newspaper club or video production organization.

If you like to write, and need to call attention to your work, INN’s Staff Writer position is for you!

Reporters & Anchors

Field Reporter, Studio Reporter, Community Reporter

As a Staff Reporter for INN, you will be at the forefront of all content, video production, and news creation. Tasked with weekly projects, you will report on all things St. Lawrence County and beyond!

Leading up to a report, your primary responsibility will be to develop content with INN’s Producers and Staff writers. Once a project is formulated, you will be required to report the information and details on camera to be aired on INN’s website or weekly Broadcast.

In addition, you will be provided the industry’s best equipment and expertise required to produce a professional report! If you’re interested in being the face of INN, and are interested in reporting throughout St. Lawrence County, this position is right for you!

As one of INN’s expert journalist, you will be tasked with researching, reporting, and developing content with journalistic integrity. Covering a wide array of genres, INN Journalists must be skilled in all walks of life and academic disciplines. Whether you’re interested in news, economics, culture, sports, or weather, INN has something for you.

Journalists are required to develop both long and short-term projects, and meet weekly to pitch and develop content.

*As an INN Specials Journalist, you will develop ‘Last Week Tonight’ pieces throughout the semester and produce them with help from student organizations, INN Producers, Staff Writers, and Reporters.

INN's Specials Team

INN’s Election Along the St. Lawrence is a two-part series which follows the candidates of various North Country elections. In NY congressional district 21, INN gets the behind the scenes trailing the incumbent Elise Stefanik, entrepreneur and former councilwoman Tedra Cobb, and psychologist Dr. Lynn Kahn (Green Party).  In St Lawrence County’s legislative district 14, INN takes on the role of moderator at the first debate between former Massena mayor Jim Hidy, member of the clergy Joel T. Grigg, and teacher Nicole L. Terminelli. Finally, get a taste for Albany with exclusives from “watchdog” Mark Walczyk (Rep) who takes on state Assemblywoman Addie Jenne in the race for the 116th state assembly seat! Also included are several experts and locals and their opinions/concerns on the upcoming election.  Be sure to tune in to watch all the exclusives that only INN has to offer!
